About RDT

Rapid Dose Therapeutics, RDT, is a Canadian life sciences company which provides disruptive proprietary drug delivery technologies designed to improve patient outcomes.

Formed because of a recognized need to move drug delivery to a new level. RDT provides product innovation, production, and consultation to the pharmaceutical and healthcare manufacturing industry.

Mark Upsdell


Mark leads RDT – Rapid Dose Therapeutics, with a unique combination of global business and technology transformational growth experience. Mark’s ability to build high-performance growth oriented teams, including his strategically-selected executive management staff, has served as a growth catalyst to drive revenue results. Mark believes in innovation, strategy and people.

Prior to RDT, Mark was Senior Global Manager of Strategy and Planning at Cisco, and held director positions within Cisco and Hewlett Packard.

Jason Lewis

SVP Business Development, Director

Jason is an entrepreneurial executive with 28+ years of hands-on expertise in growing successful businesses within the healthcare marketing, sales productivity, and software development sectors. His experience is focused in pharmaceutical product launches, marketing, and consultation. Jason builds and manages high performance sales, marketing, and channel teams, develops creative business go-to-market strategies in high growth, mid and late stage venture backed and publicly traded companies.

A results-driven marketing leader, known for innovation and a unique mix of strategic, creative, operational and technical abilities — Jason’s dedication to ensuring success for brands is unwavering.

Previous to RDT, Jason was founder of PharmaComm and RemoteRep® in Ontario, Canada, Director of International Marketing Apotex, and VP of Marketforce a subsidiary of GSW.

Brian Howlett
Brian Howlett

Mr. Howlett, CPA, CMA is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of senior financial management experience. Mr. Howlett is currently the President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Dundee Sustainable Technologies Inc and CR Capital Corp. He also formerly served as the President and Chief Financial Officer Superior Copper Corporation. Prior to that, Mr. Howlett spent 12 years with ELI Eco Logic Inc., including 6 years as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Howlett is a CPA, CMA and graduated in 1982 with a B. Comm. in finance from Concordia University and received his CMA designation in 1989. Mr. Howlett also serves on the Board of Directors for several junior companies.

Ken Fox
Ken Fox

Ken is a CPA, CMA with over 25 years of corporate tax experience Notably, Ken led the development of the provincial audit strategy during the wind down of Ontario’s Corporate and Sales Tax programs, directing the activities of approximately 1000 provincial tax auditors. Ken also has significant experience in strategy and policy development, project management, change management, labour relations and organizational design.

Ian Fodie, CPA


Ian’s has a wealth of diverse and extensive experience in many capital sectors. Prior to RDT, Green Growth Brands Ltd., CFO of First Bauxite Corporation and Lithium Americas Corp., President & CEO of Oriental Minerals Inc. (now Woulfe Mining Corp.), and CFO of Longview Capital Partners Inc. (now Resinco Capital Partners Inc.).


Kristina Shea, PMP

Director, Marketing & Communications

Kristina is a results driven leader with a proven track record for driving business growth and brand equity throughout diverse business sectors. Kristina has extensive experience in branding, strategy, digital communications, creative direction, social media and project management. She has a unique integrated marketing perspective from having worked in both the agency and corporate sides of business.

Prior to RDT, Kristina has worked with RBC, UBS Wealth Management, Xerox, Ontario Lung Association, insurance corporations, IIROC, OSC, CSA and women’s beauty and wellness brands.


Dr. Rina Carlini, Ph.D.

VP, Research & Innovation

Dr. Carlini is an accomplished scientist and management executive with 25 years of experience in technology innovation, product development, commercialization within the sectors of health technology, life science, IoT, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and nanotechnology.

Dr. Carlini holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Waterloo, and in 2017 she was awarded the Faculty of Science Alumni of Honour. She also holds several certificates from MIT, Harvard University, McMaster University in the areas of Artificial Intelligence for Business Strategy and Business Model Innovation.

Rina’s professional experience spans diverse industries and leadership roles, including pharma drug discovery R&D (Merck, Syntex), as Director of Nanotechnology for Xerox Innovation Group (Canada), Director of Commercialization at GreenCentre Canada, and President & CEO of Haltech Regional Innovation Centre. In addition, Rina is the inventor of over 100 US patents; co-author of 20+ peer-reviewed research articles; serves on the board for Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology, Concordia University’s Gina Cody School of Engineering, and as an expert reviewer for several Canadian funding agencies (OCE, NSERC, CFI).


Doug Hyland, CA, CPA

Manager, Systems & Processes

Doug is a highly respected corporate strategist and chartered accountant, focusing on assisting owners of privately held businesses with their business transition process. Doug’s expertise in the areas of taxation, finance and management provide corporations assists company management with transformative strategies intended to build business value. Doug has a wealth of experience in Canada and the United States and he has acted on international assignments for both Canadian and US clients seeking to expand their business investments within their industry.

His diverse strategic financial and business experience spans across multiple industries including manufacturing and distribution, financial services, technology, non-profit, and the health industry. Doug is a renowned thought leader, keynote speaker and recognized contributor of articles outlining the unique challenges of business transition and business wealth transfer techniques both while operating the business and upon exit.

In addition to RDT, Doug is currently acting as Director and Treasurer for OTEC (Ontario Tourism and Hospitality Industry). Prior to RDT, Doug was Director and VP Finance for the Mississauga Board of Trade, Elizabeth Fry Society. Doug is also the founding partner of Lemoine Hyland Chartered Accountants LLP, located in Mississauga, Ontario.
